NQC Greatly Expands Exhibitor Benefits

The National Quartet Convention Board of Directors has announced the addition of the Regional Artist Showcases to the long list of attractions to be featured at the 2006 National Quartet Convention. This year marks the 49th annual Quartet Convention, which is set to take place in Louisville, KY, at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center during the week of September 11 through 16.  These showcases will take place from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. each day in the South Wing Conference Center and will feature artists who do not have an opportunity to perform on either the main stage or any of the other showcase events.  According the NQC Executive Vice President Clarke Beasley, these newly added showcases “will allow us to include an additional 70 artists for scheduled NQC activities.” Beasley also stated that the NQC Board will select the talent for these showcases exclusively from NQC exhibitors.

In addition to this new exhibitor benefit, another exhibitor benefit this year will be the addition of a complete educational track.  These tracks of study will be produced by Song Garden Music Group and will feature a variety of areas of study. Tuesday’s track topic will be Music and will include the “ABC’s of Theory,” “The Nashville Number System,” “Rehearsing” and “Accompaniment.” On Wednesday, the track focus will be on Finances, and will include topics such as “Operating On The Net, Instead Of Gross,” “Calculating Profit & Expenses” and “Royalties.” Thursday’s session will focus on Recording. Topics discussed will include “Finding Songs,” “Preparation,” “Quality People = Quality Recording,” “Time” and “Investment.” On Friday, Radio Promotion will be the track topic and will include discussions regarding “Pros & Cons” and “Doing It Correctly.” Saturday’s track will be an open Q&A session.
