Change in the NQC Board of Directors

Louisville, KY - During the annual NQC Shareholders Meeting held in Louisville, Kentucky, on Tuesday, February 20th, long time NQC Director, Charles Burke, resigned from the NQC Board. Mr. Burke will be replaced by his son, Michael Burke.

“Charlie felt that it was time for him step back and requested that Michael assume his position on the NQC Board of Directors,” states NQC Executive Vice President, Clarke Beasley. “Although we will certainly miss Charlie, we are looking forward to having the benefit of all of Michael’s abilities and talents on the NQC Board.”

Charles Burke was one of the original investors who bought controlling interest of the National Quartet Convention from J.G. Whitfield in 1981 and was one of the original Board of Directors established at that time. He is also noted for his ownership and management of the Singing Americans, the quartet which introduced such notables as Danny Funderburke, Ivan Parker, Michael English, Rick Strickland and many others to the Gospel Music world.

Michael Burke is the part owner and general manager of TCA, a full service audio and video duplication and replication facility which handles the CD and DVD duplication for many artists in Southern Gospel Music. In addition to being named a Director, Michael was also elected by the NQC Board to serve as the NQC Treasurer. Les Beasley was re-elected as the NQC President and Scott Fowler was re-elected as the NQC Secretary.
