Singing News Fan Awards Move To Saturday Night! |
|
Boone, NC – The Singing News Magazine and the National Quartet Convention are delighted to announce that the 2008 Singing News Fan Awards will be presented Saturday evening, September 13, 2008. The Singing News Fan Awards is Southern Gospel's most prestigious award program, and the National Quartet Convention is the oldest and largest multi-day event in Southern Gospel music. For the past several years, the Singing News awards show has been held on Thursday evening of NQC. Singing News Magazine publisher, Jim Cumbee, explains why the move was made from the traditional Thursday night slot to Saturday night. "The Fan Awards program is one of the NQC's most anticipated events. After discussions with the NQC, we realized that the Fan Awards' tradition of excitement and fan involvement is a great way to close the week's activities. We work very hard to put on a great show and the move to Saturday night means even more fans will be able to share in the Fan Awards experience." The NQC's Executive Director, Clarke Beasley, adds, "The NQC is excited about our continued relationship with the Singing News Magazine and looks forward to the Fan Awards being placed on Saturday evening. We feel that the Saturday evening Fan Awards will give a crescendo and a 'Grand Finale feel' to the NQC Saturday evening experience."
